Wisconsin state guidelines stipulate that records revealing municipal decisions such as court documents, arrest records, marriage certificates, traffic transgressions and more are open and available to the public, largely due to the Wisconsin Open Records Law, which commemorated its centennial anniversary in 2017. All pertinent information about the numerous happenings of law enforcement officials, city and county courts, and local government are within these records, and generally are believed public unless legally redacted. Residents of Wausaukee are able to better realize their rights thanks to these laws, and the transparency provided by the release of these records maintains both criminals and authorities culpable with regard to their actions, in turn resulting in a more open and free society for all.
