Wisconsin state guidelines determine that records recording municipal decisions including court documents, arrest records, marriage licenses, traffic transgressions and more are open and accessible to the general public, largely as a result of the Wisconsin Open Records Law, which celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2017. All crucial facts about the multitude of happenings of law enforcement officials, city and county courts, and local government are contained in these records, and generally are presumed public unless officially redacted.
