Due to the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, information such as court papers, police arrest records, marriage certifications, and more are all obtainable for the general public to find, study, and obtain, and Vermonters are not any exception with thanks to the Vermont Public Records Law. All pertinent info on the multitude of happenings of police officers, municipal courts, and local government are contained in these records, and generally are deemed public unless legally redacted. Thanks to these laws, inhabitants of Manchester Center can take advantage of transparency in their governing administration, which in turn promotes a free and open society in which the people may hold both criminals and legislators alike responsible for their actions.
