South Carolina state guidelines dictate that records documenting municipal activities including court documents, arrest records, marriage licenses, traffic infractions and more are open and offered to the general public, largely as a result of the South Carolina’s Freedom of Information Act. All significant facts about the various happenings of authorities, local courts, and local government are found in these records, and are deemed public unless officially redacted. Both law enforcement and criminals may be held accountable because of their conduct because of these laws, which provide the populace with the tools they will need to examine issues outside of their government.
