Thanks to the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, information such as court papers, police arrest records, marriage certificates, and more are all available for the population to locate, examine, and obtain, and New Jerseyans are not any different due to the Oklahoma Open Records Act. All relevant facts about the various happenings of authorities, city and county courts, and local government are contained in these records, and generally are presumed public unless formally redacted. Citizens of Jet are able to better understand their rights because of these laws, and the transparency provided by the release of these records helps to keep both criminals and legislators culpable with regard to their actions, subsequently resulting in a more open and free society for everybody.
