New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act ensures its residents the legal right to search for, obtain, and use records held by government bodies, including arrest records, court public records, marriage and divorce certificates, and records of traffic infractions, and this legal right also includes the residents of Springer. All significant facts about the various happenings of law enforcement officials, city courts, and local government are incorporated into these records, and generally are presumed public unless formally redacted. Springers law enforcement and criminals are both held accountable thanks to the openness offered with this regulation, making Springer, and by proxy the country, an even more free and open culture.
