New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act guarantees its people the right to find, acquire, and utilize records held by government bodies, including arrest records, court records, marriage and divorce licenses, and records of traffic infractions, and this right extends to the people of San Felipe Pueblo. All pertaining information on the many happenings of authorities, city and county courts, and local government are within these records, and generally are deemed public unless officially redacted. San Felipe Pueblos law enforcement and criminals are both held accountable because of the transparency afforded by this law, making San Felipe Pueblo, and by proxy the nation, a more free and open society.
