The Minnesota Data Practices Act promises its people the right to look for, look at, and recover records held by municipalities across the state, including documents, traffic transgressions, marriage and divorce certificates, property and lien records, and more. All significant information about the multitude of happenings of law enforcement officials, city courts, and local government are incorporated into these records, and generally are presumed public unless formally redacted.
