As a result of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, state governments implemented their own regulations concerning government record transparency, and because of Maryland’s Public Information Act, which celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2001, locals of Friendship Heights Village can also enjoy transparency in their municipality. All applicable information on the many happenings of law enforcement officials, local courts, and local government are incorporated into these records, and generally are deemed public unless formally redacted.
