Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law assures its residents the right to look for, obtain, and utilize records kept by authorities, which includes arrest records, court public records, marriage and divorce certificates, and records of traffic violations, and this legal right extends to the citizens of Stonewall. These records contain titles, times, specifications on situations, sentences, proceedings and more, and are all assumed public unless otherwise stated. This legislation, which was generally in line with the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, are in place to ensure U.S. Citizens and residents of Stonewall have the ability to understand their own rights, and hold regulators and criminals liable with regard to their actions, supporting a free and open culture for everyone.
