As a consequence of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, state governments put into practice their own regulations concerning government record transparency, as a result of Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law, citizens of South Mansfield can take advantage of transparency within their local government. These records contain titles, times, details on events, sentences, procedures and much more, and generally are all assumed public unless otherwise stated. This legislation, that was largely using the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, are in place to ensure U.S. Citizens and occupants of South Mansfield are able to understand their protection under the law, and hold authorities and criminals culpable for their actions, supporting a free and open culture for everyone.
