The Georgia Open Records Act pledges its residents the ability to look for, display, and retrieve records held by municipalities throughout the state, including court documents, traffic infractions, marriage and divorce licenses, property and lien records, and much more. These records contain names, dates, specifications on events, sentences, procedures and more, and generally are all believed public unless otherwise stated. Both authorities and offenders can be held accountable for their conduct as a consequence of these laws, which give the populace with the resources they will need to study issues independent of their authorities.
