Woodstock holds that records on vehicular traffic infractions, documents, marriage and divorce certificates, property and lien records, and more and offered to the public as a consequence of Alabama’s 1923 Public Records Law. All pertaining information on the numerous happenings of law enforcement officials, city and county courts, and local government are incorporated into these records, and generally are presumed public unless legally redacted. These laws give the people of America, and Woodstock, the capability to examine and understand their rights, the precedents that resulted in those rights, and whenever those rights are infringed upon, which in turn leads to a more free and open society for all.
